Direct Cremation:
Our funeral home specializes in direct cremation services throughout Sarasota and Sarasota County - a straightforward, dignified, and affordable option that doesn't compromise on the care your loved one deserves. Our crematory is located in Palmetto, just north of Sarasota, and your loved one stays in our care throughout the entire process. Many other providers contract cremations out to a third-party facility - we never do.
All Cremation & Funeral Options:
Direct cremation is our most popular service, but we offer much more. Families who want a private moment before cremation can choose our Simple Cremation with Private Family Goodbye package — a 30-minute intimate viewing at our facility for up to 10 family members. Families of U.S. military veterans can choose from our Veteran Cremation Packages, which include VA coordination, national cemetery scheduling, and military honors — including coordination with Sarasota National Cemetery, located right here in Sarasota County. We offer complete online arrangements so you can handle everything from the comfort of your home — paperwork, cremation authorization, obituary submission, and payment — without needing to visit our office.

How It Works

Documentation and Permits: We handle all required paperwork and permits at no extra charge — including filing the death certificate with the Florida Department of Health, obtaining the state disposition permit, and coordinating Sarasota County Medical Examiner approval. We include 1 Certified Death Certificate with this package; additional copies are $12 per copy. Use our online arrangement form to provide death certificate information and select services.
Collection and Care: Our professional team will respectfully collect your loved one anywhere in Sarasota or Sarasota County and provide the necessary care in our climate-controlled facility throughout the process.
Cremation: Your loved one will be cremated at our family-owned and operated crematory in Palmetto, FL, adhering to the highest standards of care and Florida state regulations. Cremation is scheduled only after we have received a signed Cremation Authorization from all legal next of kin, the state permit, Medical Examiner approval, and payment. Cremation is generally completed within 10–12 business days from receipt of all required authorizations and approvals.
Return of Cremated Remains: Cremated remains are returned in the basic polymer urn included with the package, available for pickup at our crematory at 2000 14th Ave E, Unit 104, Palmetto, FL 34221. If pickup is not convenient, local delivery within 50 miles is available for $125. Shipping within Florida is available for $125 or other US States for $225 via USPS Priority Mail Express.
Payment: A Statement of Goods and Services will be provided for review and signature via Adobe Sign or in person. Payment is accepted by credit/debit card, e-check, cash, or personal check, and is expected prior to cremation.

Direct Cremation Packages — Simple ($945), Expedited ($1,245), and Premium ($1,395) options, each with clearly defined inclusions and no hidden fees. Our Premium package adds 6 death certificates, obituary assistance, a premium urn, and local delivery.
Simple Cremation with Private Family Goodbye — For families who want one last private moment before cremation. Includes a 30-minute viewing for up to 10 family members at our facility prior to cremation, starting at $1,495.
Veteran Cremation Packages — Specialized packages for U.S. military veterans starting at $1,145, including coordination with the Veterans National Scheduling Office, delivery of cremated remains to Sarasota National Cemetery or Bay Pines National Cemetery, and assistance obtaining military honors.

Medical Examiner Fee Deaths occurring in Sarasota County carry a Medical Examiner fee of $35, required by Florida law before any cremation can proceed. This fee is set by the county and passed through to families at cost — we do not mark it up.

Hospice Care in Sarasota We work closely with hospice providers serving Sarasota County, including Tidewell Hospice, Suncoast Hospice, and Empath Health. If your loved one is under hospice care, notify your hospice representative at the time of death and let them know you will be using AM Cremation & Funeral Care. The hospice nurse will coordinate the release of your loved one into our care.
Hospitals & Care Facilities We regularly receive loved ones from Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Doctors Hospital of Sarasota, HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital, and assisted living and nursing facilities throughout Sarasota County. If your loved one passed away at a care facility, notify them of your choice of provider and they will contact us directly.
National Cemetery for Veterans Sarasota National Cemetery is located right here in Sarasota County, serving veterans and their families throughout the region. Our Veteran Cremation Packages include coordination with the Veterans National Scheduling Office and delivery of cremated remains to Sarasota National Cemetery at no additional charge — a meaningful benefit for the many veterans and military families in the Sarasota area.
Scattering at Sea The waters surrounding Sarasota — Sarasota Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, and the coastlines of Siesta Key, Lido Key, and Longboat Key — hold deep meaning for many families in the area. We offer an unattended scattering at sea service performed by a licensed funeral director for $225, including a certificate noting the date, time, and GPS coordinates of the scattering.
