If a death has occurred and you need immediate assistance

Direct Cremation — Southwest Florida

Simple, dignified cremation care — close to home

We understand that the death of a loved one brings both grief and the immediate need to make arrangements. Our goal is to make that process as simple and stress-free as possible — with honest pricing, caring staff, and a process that puts your family first.

Unlike many other providers, we own and operate our own crematory on-site. We do not contract out to third parties. Your loved one remains in our care from the moment we receive them until the ashes are returned to your family.

Common Questions

Direct cremation in Florida — what to know

What is direct cremation?

Direct cremation is the simplest and most affordable cremation option. The deceased is cared for and transported directly to the crematory without a formal funeral service beforehand. Families receive the cremated remains within a few days to two weeks depending on permits and authorizations. A memorial or celebration of life can still be held at any time.

Does direct cremation mean there can be no service or gathering?

No. Direct cremation simply refers to the method of final disposition. It does not prevent your family from holding any type of memorial, celebration of life, or gathering. Many families choose to hold a service after receiving the cremated remains, on their own schedule and in a place that is meaningful to them.

How much does direct cremation cost in my area?

Our Simple Cremation Package starts at $945 with our prompt pay discount. Additional costs vary by county — removal fees run $200–$250 and Medical Examiner fees are $35–$40 depending on the county of death. Select your city above to see the complete all-in price for your specific area. There are no hidden administrative or secretarial charges.

How long does the direct cremation process take?

We strive to complete cremation within 48 hours of receiving the state permit. Overall, the process generally takes 10–12 business days from time of death, depending on how quickly the attending physician completes the death certificate and authorizations from next of kin are received. A rush option is available if needed.

Can family members view the deceased before cremation?

Yes. We offer immediate family members the opportunity to briefly view the deceased prior to cremation in our private viewing room at the crematory in Palmetto, FL. Please let us know when making arrangements if a viewing is desired.

What happens to the cremated remains?

Ashes may be kept in your possession, scattered where legally permitted, buried in a cemetery, or placed in a mausoleum. A portion may also be kept in a keepsake urn or memorial jewelry. We also offer an unattended scattering at sea service, which includes a certificate noting the date, time, and GPS coordinates of the scattering.

Do you serve areas outside the listed communities?

We cover all of Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Hillsborough, and Pinellas Counties, and can often assist in neighboring areas as well. If your community is not listed, please call us at (941) 212-1093 and we will confirm whether we can help and advise on any applicable additional fees.
